Physical Eligibility / Standards

DetailsThe competition level for PSB Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is expected to be moderate to high. With only 635 seats spread across 29 States/UTs, the vacancy count is significantly lower than comparable bank apprenticeship drives such as SBI. Selection is purely merit-based on 10+2 marks without any written examination, which means candidates with high HSC scores - especially from states like Uttar Pradesh (100 seats), Punjab (90 seats), Bihar (40 seats), Maharashtra (30 seats), and Haryana (50 seats) - will face intense competition within their district and category. | Since there is no written exam, the effective competition depends entirely on the candidate's 10+2 percentage and age as a tie-breaker. Attrition at later stages will occur through local language proof verification, document verification, and medical fitness, which will reduce the final eligible pool. Candidates who do not have proof of studying the local language at 8th/10th/12th level are at a disadvantage as they must demonstrate local language proficiency separately.
