SSSB has notified 10 vacancies across 5 posts. Category-wise numbers are as per demand letters received from the departments concerned and may be increased, decreased, or withdrawn by the department at any stage of the recruitment process; such changes will apply to all candidates. Of the 10 posts, 2 are reserved for women (per the notification's women column): 1 under General category (Accountant) and 1 under SC (Mazhabi & Balmiki) (Accountant). The qualification required for each post, as per the demand received from the concerned department, is given below. For all the above posts, under Rule 17 of the Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994, candidates must have passed Punjabi at Matriculation level, or an equivalent qualification: "No person shall be appointed to any post in any service by direct appointment unless he has passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language which may be specified by the Government from time to time." The age limit for these posts, as on 01.01.2026 , as per Punjab Government instructions, is: No candidate of any category should be less than 18 years of age. The upper age limit for General category candidates should not exceed 37 years. The maximum upper age limit for Scheduled Caste candidates who are residents of Punjab State shall be 42 years. The maximum age limit, giving relaxation in upper age limit for State and Central Government employees, shall be 45 years. The upper age limit for widows, divorcees and certain other categories of married women, as per Punjab Government instructions vide letter No. 1/50/83-5PP(1368)/3454 dated 23.04.1984, will be relaxed up to 40 years. State and Central Government employees seeking upper age relaxation must obtain an NOC from their department and present it at the time of counseling.

Fee once paid by a candidate will not be refunded under any circumstances. No fee waiver or concession is given to any candidate; if the fee is not paid, the application form is considered incomplete and is not accepted, and the candidate's application/eligibility is treated as rejected from the outset.

Pay scales and allowances, as received from the departments concerned, are as per the 7th Central Pay Scale, subject to the Finance Department (Finance Personnel-1 Branch) letter No. 7/204/2012-4FP1/66-72 dated 15/01/2015, letter No. 07/204/2015-4FP1/853793 dated 04/10/2016, and other instructions issued from time to time.

Candidates should carefully fill their category and category code in the online form, as this cannot be changed at any stage after the form is filled. The benefit of reservation is available only to residents of Punjab. Candidates must keep this in mind while filling category and category code; eligibility will be considered only on the basis of the category and category code entered in the online form. To claim reservation, every candidate (male or female), regardless of category, must upload/produce a Domicile Certificate/Residence Certificate not more than 5 years old at the time of upload/production. Candidates who successfully apply for the notified posts will be called for an Objective Type (Multiple Choice Question, MCQ) written examination. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination. There will be negative marking in this written examination: each question carries 1 mark, and ¼ mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. In case of a tie in merit in the written examination: first, the candidate with the higher age (based on date of birth) will rank above; if the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with a higher percentage in the required educational qualification will rank above; if this is also tied, the candidate with higher marks in Matriculation will rank above.
