Candidates applying for the post of Engineer (VC No. CL/08/26) must possess any one of the following: Full-time Diploma in Mechanical/Metallurgical branch of Engineering with UT Level-2 Certificate (ASNT/ISNT), or Full-time Degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical branch of Engineering with UT Level-2 Certificate (ASNT/ISNT) The Diploma/Degree must be from an institution recognised by BTE/AICTE, or from a university incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India, or from an institution established/deemed under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. Sections A & B examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India), treated as equivalent to a Degree and recognised by AICTE, are also accepted. The selection process consists of the following stages: Document Scrutiny/Verification: All candidates who successfully submit the online application are provisionally allowed to appear for document scrutiny to verify their eligibility for the applied post. Interview: Shortlisted/eligible candidates are called for an interview, which carries a weightage of 100% - split as Technical & Professional proficiency (65%) and Personality, Communication & Competency (35%). A minimum of 60% marks in the interview is required for UR/EWS candidates (50% for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD candidates against reserved posts) to be considered for placement on the panel; there is no separate minimum qualifying mark in the aggregate.
