If suitable candidates are unavailable for a sports discipline under Level 4 or Level 5, the vacancies may be filled under Level 2 or Level 3 from the same discipline.

Candidates awaiting the final examination or final results are not eligible. No relaxation will be provided in the minimum educational qualification.

Candidates appointed as Clerk-cum-Typist must acquire a typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi within four years from the date of appointment. Until the typing requirement is fulfilled, the appointment will remain provisional.

No upper or lower age relaxation is permissible under this recruitment.

Candidates must possess the prescribed recognised sports achievements for the pay level for which they apply. The required standard varies according to the level and may include representation or medal-winning performance in recognised: Olympic Games World Championships or World Cups Asian Games Commonwealth Games Asian Championships or Asian Cups South Asian Federation Games National Championships National Games All India Inter-University Championships National School Games and other recognised competitions The recognised sports achievement must have been obtained on or after 1 April 2024 and up to the notification date. Applicants must be active sportspersons.

The fee must be paid online through the payment gateway. The applicable refund will be provided only to candidates who appear in the sports trial.

Only candidates declared fit in the sports trial will be considered for the remaining stages.

If two candidates obtain equal marks, the younger candidate will receive preference in the merit list.

Applications will be accepted only through online mode. No vacancy is exclusively reserved for a community such as SC, ST or OBC. Candidates applying for more than one sports discipline, event or pay level must submit separate applications and pay separate fees. The exact pay level and place of posting will be decided by Southern Railway at the time of appointment. Original certificates must be produced during the trial and document verification. Selected candidates must execute a service bond for five years. Selected sportspersons will be on probation for two years.
