SCERT PET 2026 Syllabus Overview

This section briefly summarizes the topics covered in each subject so candidates can plan their preparation.

• General English: Vocabulary, tenses, verbs, prepositions, comprehension, voice change, narration, synonyms and antonyms.
• General Knowledge: Current affairs, abbreviations, the Constitution of India, History of Assam, inventions, sports, art & culture, science in daily life, world organizations, geography, and educational commissions/initiatives.
• Reasoning: Logical and analytical reasoning, and pattern recognition.
• General Mathematics: Numbers, fractions, percentage, money, geometry, measurement, data handling, square/square root, ratio-proportion, and simple algebraic equations.
• General Science & EVS: Natural and social environment, pollution and environmental degradation, biodiversity, states of matter, chemical reactions, force and energy, cell structure, microorganisms, heat, acids/bases/salts, and weather.
• Social Science: Natural and human resources, atmosphere, India's freedom movement, the Constitution, democracy, Ahom kingdom history, government structure, consumer rights, and India's post-independence development.
• Language: Objectives of language learning, phrases and idioms, listening/speaking/reading/writing skills, grammar (prefix, suffix, sandhi), and reading comprehension.

SCERT D.El.Ed Merit List and Seat Allotment

SCERT Assam will prepare a district-wise merit list based on PET performance. Seat allotment into Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) will be made district-wise according to merit and seat availability. Each district reserves 30% of total seats for candidates from the Science stream and 70% for candidates from Arts and other streams.
