Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2026 - Overview

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu is conducting Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2026 in online mode for admission to MBBS, BDS and allied medical courses. This counselling covers 85% of seats under the state quota and 100% of seats in private medical colleges of Tamil Nadu, based on NEET UG 2026 scores and the Tamil Nadu state merit list. The remaining 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and seats in central or deemed universities are filled separately through NEET counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), not by DME Tamil Nadu.

The Tamil Nadu NEET UG counselling process is conducted fully online and generally follows these stages in each round:

• Online registration on the DME Tamil Nadu counselling portal
• Choice filling and locking of preferred colleges and courses
• Processing of seat allotment by the authority based on rank, category, and choices filled
• Declaration of the seat allotment result
• Downloading the provisional allotment order
• Reporting to the allotted institute for document verification and admission confirmation within the specified joining window

• Register using NEET UG 2026 roll number and required personal details.
• Complete the online application within the notified registration window.
