TNPSC Group 2 eligibility 2026 is assessed as on the dates given in the notification - age is reckoned as on 01.07.2026, and educational qualification must be held on the date of notification (11.08.2026). Eligibility depends on nationality-neutral factors such as educational qualification, age limit, and (for a few posts) physical/medical standards, knowledge of Tamil, and community/gender-specific restrictions explained below. Candidates must possess adequate knowledge of Tamil as on the date of notification - either by having passed SSLC/HSC/Degree with Tamil as one of the languages, by having studied in Tamil medium, or by having passed the Second Class Language Test (Full Test) in Tamil conducted by TNPSC.
