A total of 1182 vacancies have been announced for Ganna Paryavekshak - 1000 posts under General Selection and 182 posts under Special Selection. Vacancies are distributed across Unreserved (UR), Scheduled Caste (SC), Other Backward Class (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories as per the UP Government's reservation norms. Horizontal reservations are applicable for Women, Ex-Servicemen, Dependants of Freedom Fighters, Persons with Disabilities (PH/Divyangjan), and Outstanding Sportspersons within each category. Only those candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025) and received a valid score card issued by UPSSSC are eligible to apply for this Main Examination. Candidates must possess the required educational qualifications and other eligibility conditions on or before the last date of application (28-07-2026). Shortlisting for the Main Examination will be based on PET-2025 normalized scores - 15 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) up to the cutoff marks will be shortlisted. Candidates with zero/negative absolute or normalized PET-2025 scores will not be shortlisted. Educational Qualification (Mandatory – as per UP Ganna Paryavekshak Service Rules, 1979)

Candidates must be at least 21 years and must not have exceeded 40 years of age as on 1st July of the calendar year in which the Commission advertises the vacancies. Age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, PWD (Divyangjan), Ex-Servicemen, Freedom Fighter Dependants, State Government employees, and Chief Minister's Fellowship candidates as per UP Government rules. SC/ST/OBC candidates from UP will get age relaxation as per prevailing UP Government orders.

Candidates applying for the post of Ganna Paryavekshak are required to pay an online processing fee as specified below. Fee payment is accepted via Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or SBI e-Challan only. No other mode of fee payment is permitted. After successful fee payment/reconciliation, the application form will be automatically submitted and a printout of the application must be taken by the candidate. Fee once paid will not be refunded. The last date for fee reconciliation is 04-08-2026. Examination fee for the Main Examination will be charged separately from shortlisted candidates only, before downloading the admit card. Note: Dependants of Freedom Fighters, Ex-Servicemen, Women, Divyangjan, and Outstanding Sportspersons pay fee as per their parent/base category (Sl. No. 1 to 4).

The selection process for UPSSSC Ganna Paryavekshak Recruitment 2026 consists of a single Written (Main) Examination of 100 marks. There is no interview. Shortlisting for the Written Examination is done on the basis of PET-2025 normalized scores - 15 times the number of category-wise vacancies (up to the cutoff marks, rounded to 2 decimal places) will be shortlisted. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Examination. If the exam is held over multiple days/sessions, normalization will be done as per UPSSSC norms published in Mandatory Notice No. 42/05/Vigya0 Anu0 (Gyarah)/2019 dated 22 May 2019. The Written Examination consists of one question paper with 100 MCQ questions of 1 mark each, divided into 3 parts. All questions are answered in Hindi/English (OMR-based). Only candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and hold a valid UPSSSC score card are eligible to apply - others need not apply. Only online applications through the official UPSSSC portal will be accepted; hard copy applications will be rejected. All reserved category candidates of UP must mention their category in the application form; only the most beneficial single relaxation will be granted if multiple categories are claimed. Candidates not domiciled in UP will not be entitled to reservation benefits and will be treated as Unreserved (General). The date of birth as recorded in the High School (Madhyamik) certificate is the only accepted proof; no other document will be accepted.
