The recruitment is for a single post of Fire Officer to be engaged on a contract basis in the Marine Department of Visakhapatnam Port Authority.

Candidates applying for the Fire Officer post must fulfil the educational qualification, experience, age, and physical standards specified in the notification, as on the date of notification. The essential educational qualifications for the Fire Officer post are as follows: Must be a Graduate from a recognized University or Institution. Must have undergone 6 (six) months of training in a recognized Fire Training Institute or College. Should possess a Driving License for Light and Heavy Vehicles. The age limit and physical standards prescribed for the Fire Officer post are given below: Apart from the qualifications above, candidates are expected to demonstrate the following capabilities: Excellent communication skills, especially in English, Hindi, and Telugu. Proficiency in operating computers and MS Office. Capability in all fire fighting and fire prevention arrangements in the Port area. Ability to handle correspondence related to Fire Service matters, establishment, and stores. Capability to supervise the Fire Safety Inspector's duties and responsibilities. Ability to advise and instruct on maintaining Fire Fighting Units in good repair. Capability to supervise safety arrangements for handling hazardous cargo in the Port area. The Fire Officer engaged on contract basis will be paid a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 60,000/- (Rupees Sixty Thousand only), subject to applicability of the DoPT Office Memorandum on fixation of pay in respect of retired government employees. No other benefits are payable apart from this consolidated remuneration. Key terms and conditions of the contract include: Contract Duration: Initially one year from the date of joining/reporting, extendable at the discretion of the Port Authority based on satisfactory performance. The engagement does not confer any right to continuous employment or any regular appointment in VPA.
