VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 – Walk in for 179 Posts

The walk-in-interviews are scheduled department-wise from 15 June 2026 to 25 June 2026. Reporting time is 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM on each date at Room No. 18 (Academic Section), Ground Floor, College Building, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi – 110029. Each date covers specific departments — for example, 15 June covers Dental Surgery, ENT, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and Radiology; 16 June covers Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Medical Oncology, and Cancer Surgery.

Candidates must hold MBBS with a PG Degree/Diploma/DNB in the relevant specialty recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) — or MDS in Endodontics recognized by DCI for the Dental Surgery (Endodontics) department. Additionally, candidates must be registered with the Delhi Medical Council (DMC) for both MBBS and PG, or must have applied for such registration. The age limit is 45 years for General/EWS, 48 years for OBC, and 50 years for SC/ST candidates.

The pay scale is Rs. 67,700/- in Pay Level-11 in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC) (pre-revised: PB-3, Rs. 15,600–39,100 with Grade Pay Rs. 6,600), plus other allowances as admissible as per Government of India rules.

No application fee is required. The walk-in-interview is free for all candidates. However, selected candidates are required to submit a refundable security deposit of Rs. 65,000/- along with original UG & PG degrees at the time of joining. This deposit is refundable without interest after completion of tenure or resignation with applicable notice period.

The appointment is initially for 89 days, which may be extended for a further period of 89 days subject to satisfactory work & conduct report from the concerned Head of Department (HOD). The maximum total tenure as Senior Resident is 3 years, including any service rendered earlier as Senior Resident on adhoc/regular basis in any Government of India or State Government hospital/institution — whichever is earlier.

Candidates must carry: duly filled Application Form (Annexure-I) with passport size photograph; 10th class certificate (for age proof); MBBS Degree / Provisional Certificate; MD/MS/DNB/MDS/Diploma Degree / Provisional Certificate; Permanent DMC Registration Certificate for both MBBS and PG (or acknowledgement); SC/ST/OBC/EWS Certificate (if applicable); OBC certificate dated on or after 01-04-2026 (for OBC candidates); EWS Income & Asset Certificate dated on or after 01-04-2026 with Form 16/ITR for FY 2025-26; No Objection Certificate from present employer (if employed); Experience certificate (if any); and PwBD certificate (if applicable). Originals plus one set of self-attested photocopies of all documents are required.

No. Candidates can appear for only one specialty/department under this advertisement. The undertaking in the Application Form (Annexure-I) explicitly states that the candidate is appearing in only one subject for the post of Senior Resident in response to this advertisement. Appearing in more than one specialty will result in cancellation of candidature.

Yes, DMC registration is mandatory. Permanent Registration Certificate from Delhi Medical Council (DMC) is required for both MBBS and PG qualifications. However, candidates who have applied for registration with the DMC and are awaiting the registration certificate are also eligible they must carry the acknowledgement of registration application at the time of the walk-in-interview.

Yes. All Senior Residents recruited, including those recruited against the posts of VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, will be posted in RHTC (Rural Health Training Centre), Najafgarh on brief rotational basis as per requirement. The teaching experience certificate for all such Senior Residents will be issued by VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital. Inter-hospital/institution transfer is not permitted.
