What Has JKBOSE Changed?

What Has JKBOSE Changed?

All other subjects in Classes 11 and 12 stick to the existing syllabus, no broad overhaul here. For Classes 9 and 10, the board has confirmed no revisions at all for the Academic Session 2025–26 in Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of Jammu Division, and the same unchanged setup continues for 2026–27 in summer zone areas of Jammu Division.

The notification also spells out exam timelines: annual session exams for the Kashmir Division and winter zone Jammu are set for October–November 2026, while summer zone Jammu gets February–March 2027. Question papers for the revised subjects (regular and fresh private candidates) will follow the new syllabus only.

Separately, JKBOSE has reminded private schools (especially in Jammu Division) to stick strictly to the board's prescribed curriculum and textbooks from Classes 1 to 12, no deviations allowed.

JKBOSE Class 11 Syllabus 2026–27: Subjects Revised

For the JKBOSE Class 11 syllabus, the changes are limited and straightforward.

• Class 11 Punjabi – Revised syllabus introduced
• Class 11 Physical Education – Revised syllabus introduced

All other Class 11 subjects (whether Arts, Science, Commerce, or others) continue as per the existing pattern; no updates announced.

JKBOSE Class 12 Syllabus 2026–27: Subjects Revised

Similarly, for the JKBOSE Class 12 syllabus, only two subjects see changes.

• Class 12 Education – Revised syllabus notified

No changes for other Class 12 subjects. Students in other streams or subjects will follow last year’s syllabus pattern, as nothing new has been announced for them.

Classes 9 and 10 Syllabus: No Change for 2025–26 / 2026–27

Good news for younger students: JKBOSE Class 9 syllabus 2025–26 and JKBOSE Class 10 syllabus unchanged across the board.

• Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of Jammu Division: Classes 9 and 10 syllabi remain the same for the Academic Session 2025–26.

Board Orders Mandatory Implementation of JKBOSE Curriculum

JKBOSE has put out a clear directive (marked "most urgent") to all affiliated private schools in Jammu Division: you must implement the JKBOSE curriculum and prescribed textbooks for Classes 1 to 12, no exceptions.

This is backed by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education Act, 1975, and J&K School Education Rules, 2010, which make adherence compulsory. It repeats earlier instructions from the Director of Academics.

Inspections are coming: JKBOSE teams will visit schools to check on-ground compliance with approved textbooks and syllabi. Non-compliance (like pushing non-JKBOSE books or materials) could lead to strict penalties, disciplinary action, or other sanctions under board regulations.
