Exam Pattern
The CRE-5 Computer Based Test is a structured, time-bound examination designed to assess both domain knowledge and general aptitude. | Each section is sequential and time-locked - once a section closes, candidates cannot return to it. Candidates must attempt all possible questions within the active section's time window. | Posts where the essential qualification is 10th/12th will be examined in bilingual (English and Hindi) medium. Posts requiring bachelor's or higher qualifications, or posts involving specific technical domain knowledge, will be examined in English only. | In case of equal marks, ties are resolved in this order: (i) higher marks in the domain-specific section; (ii) fewer wrong answers/negative marks; (iii) older date of birth; (iv) alphabetical order of name, then father's name, then mother's name. | Full syllabus details for all 57 groups are in Section IX of the official DRA. | For selected post groups, a Skill Test is conducted as Stage II for candidates who qualify the CBT. The skill test is qualifying in nature. The final merit list is prepared based on CBT performance, but only among those who pass the skill test for the relevant post. | Posts requiring skill tests include groups such as Junior Administrative Assistant (typing test), Stenographer (stenography test), Programmer (computer skill test), Hindi Translator (translation test), Assistant Security Officer (PST), and Fire Technician (PET & PST). See Annexure-V of the DRA for complete scheme details. | If a candidate qualifies the CBT but fails the skill test, they remain eligible only for posts within the same group that do not require a skill test.
