Category-wise Reservation of Posts

The candidate must be an Indian Citizen, as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India. The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam. As domicile proof, candidates must upload a copy of a valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam for educational purposes, or an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate, which will be treated as proof of residency.

For all engineering posts, the course duration should be a minimum of 4 years after HSSLC or equivalent, or 3 years after a full-time Diploma in Engineering from a Govt./Govt.-recognized/AICTE-approved Polytechnic/Institution, or 2 years (base) + 2 years (diploma) + 2 years Engineering course from a Govt./Govt.-recognized/AICTE-approved Institution. Candidates must upload relevant mark sheets/grade sheets of each semester/year reflecting the subjects and the final pass certificate.

Candidates should not be less than 21 years and not more than 38 years of age as on 01-01-2026 . Age will be calculated on the basis of the Class-X/Class-XII Examination Admit Card/Pass Certificate/Marksheet issued by a recognized Central/State Board/Council, where the age/date of birth is clearly reflected. No other document will be accepted for age proof. To be eligible for consideration under the PwBD category, a candidate must possess a Benchmark Disability of 40% or more and must produce the necessary certificate issued by the competent authority.

The pay scale is inclusive of Grade Pay and other allowances as admissible to Assam State Government employees from time to time.

To avail the application fee relaxation prescribed for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/BPL, candidates must produce a certificate of the claimed category issued by the competent authority. Applications without the prescribed fee will not be considered and will be summarily rejected; no representation against such rejection will be entertained. Fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances, nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. The processing fee is charged by CSC-SPV, a MeitY-approved organization, under the Digital India initiative, as per Govt. Notification No. FEG.32/2016/8-A dated 28th October 2016 and related communications.

This is a Direct Recruitment. The selection procedure will be notified later, followed by a corrigendum/addendum if required. The Commission will decide the provision for selection considering the status, cadre and grade of the post, or the number of applications received. The Commission may also decide to conduct the examination/test zone-wise, depending on the number of candidates against the districts shown below. The Commission has the discretion to reduce or increase the number of zones depending on the number of candidates.
