Army Dental Corps Short Service Commissioned Officer Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 37 Posts

A total of 37 vacancies are available for the grant of Short Service Commission to desirous civilian Dental Surgeons in the Army Dental Corps.

The candidate must be a citizen of India. BDS (with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in final year BDS) or MDS degree, from a College/University recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI) for the respective batch/year of graduation. Candidates must have registered themselves as Registered Dental Practitioners with any State Dental Council. Must have completed a one-year Compulsory Rotatory Internship, as mandated by DCI, by 30 June 2026. No condonation of the internship period is accepted, except for specific historical batches (2007-08 batch with 4.5-year BDS + 6 months' internship, and the 2006-07 Rajah Muthiah Dental College batch with a 5-year BDS course without internship). Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on the marks scored in NEET (MDS)-2026. The list formulated will be used for screening candidates in a ratio of 1:10 - for each advertised vacancy, ten candidates will be called for interview. Shortlisted candidates will be called to appear before a duly constituted Selection Board at New Delhi, to assess suitability and merit for grant of SSC. The final merit list for grant of SSC in Army Dental Corps is based on interview performance alone. On commission, candidates are granted the rank of Captain in Pay Level 10B (₹61,300 – ₹1,20,900) of the Defence Pay Matrix, as per Army Pay Rules 2017 (7th Pay Commission). Military Service Pay (MSP) of ₹15,500 per month. Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) at 20% of Basic Pay. House Rent Allowance (HRA), as per city category (X/Y/Z), and Dearness Allowance as admissible.
