AVNL Recruitment 2026: Remuneration
IDA (Industrial Dearness Allowance) is applicable as per rate in force; the exact current rate is Not specified in the notification. The written exam is a single Computer Based Test (CBT), objective multiple-choice type, for a maximum of 100 marks, with no negative marking. Part A questions are up to 10th Standard level for Junior Technician posts, and Graduate level for all other posts. Total time allowed for the written exam is 2 hours. Written exam weightage is 100% for Junior Technician posts and 85% for Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, and Deputy Manager posts. There is no written exam (CBT) for Senior Manager, Deputy General Manager, Additional General Manager, and Consultant posts.

Junior Technician posts: CBT, followed by a qualifying Trade Test (Practical) at the respective AVNL unit. Merit is decided solely on Written Test marks; the Trade Test syllabus is per Annexure-A of the official notification. Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager posts: CBT, followed by an Interview (50 marks, 15% weightage) assessing technical knowledge, prior work experience, initiative, and decision-making. Merit is decided on combined Written Exam and Interview performance. Senior Manager, Deputy General Manager, Additional General Manager, Consultant posts: No written CBT. Candidates are assessed through Presentation, Experience, Expertise, Knowledge, and Interview, conducted at AVNL CO, Avadi. The CBT will be held at: Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Kanpur. Selection of Option for ALL Units wherever a post is available is mandatory to complete the application. Candidates should necessarily upload all required documents while applying; applications with incomplete or insufficient documents are liable to be rejected. Candidates are advised to apply for one post; in case of a clash in CBT dates, the candidate must choose one post/trade to appear for. The category once filled in the online application form cannot be changed. All computation of age, experience, and qualification requirements will be done with reference to the closing date of online registration. Where a qualifying degree does not mention the required specialization, candidates must submit a certificate from their University/Institution at the time of Interview/Trade Test clearly stating their specialization. Assistive devices/scribes for PwD candidates are allowed at the exam centre, subject to prior permission obtained by emailing [email protected]. Any dispute arising from this recruitment can be instituted only in Chennai; courts/tribunals/forums at Chennai have sole and exclusive jurisdiction.
