1005 Junior Technician posts are spread across four units, with vacancies broken down by category as follows: Horizontal reservation within these 1005 posts: 11 VH (Visually Handicapped), 10 HH (Hard of Hearing), 09 OH (Orthopedically Handicapped), 09 MD (Multiple Disability), and 108 Ex-Servicemen (Ex-SM).

208 Executive-cadre posts are distributed as follows: Horizontal reservation within these 208 posts: 01 HH, 02 OH, 01 MD (none specified for VH or Ex-SM in this category). Equivalent Engineering Disciplines Recognized by AVNL

Age is calculated as on the closing date of online registration (25 July 2026). Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates, 10 years for PwBD candidates. Relaxation of age for Ex-Servicemen is as per Government guidelines. Upper age limit for an Ex-Trade Apprentice of AVNL is relaxable by the period of apprenticeship training undergone under the Apprenticeship Act.

IDA (Industrial Dearness Allowance) is applicable as per rate in force; the exact current rate is Not specified in the notification. In addition, candidates receive an Annual Increment of 3%, Earned Leave of 18 days per annum, 10 Casual Leave days, Provident Fund, and Gratuity per annum. In-patient medical treatment is provided for the employee and family (spouse and up to two living children) during the engagement, and ceases automatically on discontinuation. No other benefits or facilities are admissible beyond those listed above.

Fees must be paid online through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI. Fees once paid are non-refundable under any circumstances.

The written exam is a single Computer Based Test (CBT), objective multiple-choice type, for a maximum of 100 marks, with no negative marking. Part A questions are up to 10th Standard level for Junior Technician posts, and Graduate level for all other posts. Total time allowed for the written exam is 2 hours. Written exam weightage is 100% for Junior Technician posts and 85% for Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, and Deputy Manager posts. There is no written exam (CBT) for Senior Manager, Deputy General Manager, Additional General Manager, and Consultant posts.

Junior Technician posts: CBT, followed by a qualifying Trade Test (Practical) at the respective AVNL unit. Merit is decided solely on Written Test marks; the Trade Test syllabus is per Annexure-A of the official notification. Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager posts: CBT, followed by an Interview (50 marks, 15% weightage) assessing technical knowledge, prior work experience, initiative, and decision-making. Merit is decided on combined Written Exam and Interview performance. Senior Manager, Deputy General Manager, Additional General Manager, Consultant posts: No written CBT. Candidates are assessed through Presentation, Experience, Expertise, Knowledge, and Interview, conducted at AVNL CO, Avadi. The CBT will be held at: Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Kanpur. Candidates must indicate their preferred test centre in the online application form. AVNL reserves the right to modify, add, or cancel test centres depending on the number of eligible applicants; affected candidates will be assigned a new centre.

Selection of Option for ALL Units wherever a post is available is mandatory to complete the application. Candidates should necessarily upload all required documents while applying; applications with incomplete or insufficient documents are liable to be rejected. Candidates are advised to apply for one post; in case of a clash in CBT dates, the candidate must choose one post/trade to appear for. The category once filled in the online application form cannot be changed. All computation of age, experience, and qualification requirements will be done with reference to the closing date of online registration.
