CERT-In Scientist-B Recruitment 2026: 133 Vacancies, GATE-Based Selection, Apply Online

A total of 133 vacancies have been notified across three disciplines. The number of advertised posts is tentative and may increase or decrease at the sole discretion of CERT-In. *Note: SC and OBC(NCL) figures for CS and DA disciplines include backlog vacancies - 1 SC and 3 OBC backlog post in CS, and OBC(NCL) backlog in DA (exact backlog count for DA not specified beyond the note).

A citizen of India, or A subject of Nepal, or A subject of Bhutan, or A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or specified East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (certificate of eligibility required for categories other than Indian citizens) Candidates must possess a valid GATE score from 2024, 2025, or 2026 in the paper code corresponding to their discipline. Equal weightage is given to GATE 2024, 2025, and 2026 scores.

Age is calculated as completed years on the cut-off date (17.08.2026). Additional age relaxation of 5 years applies to candidates serving in Government Organizations in the same or allied cadre where prior service would be useful for the advertised post. Age relaxation for PwBD candidates applies irrespective of whether the post is reserved for them, provided the post is identified as suitable.

The post of Scientist-'B' carries Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC) , with a pay scale of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 . Details of allowances (DA, HRA, TA) are not specified in the notification.

GATE Score Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5 (discipline-wise and category-wise), based on GATE score merit.
