Candidates must have passed the particular trade (except Glass Former and Processor) of the NCVT pattern designated by the Director General of Employment & Training (D.G.E.&T). Candidates must be registered as Trade Apprentices in the NAPS portal before the date of the walk-in interview. A full-time graduate degree granted by a recognized university/institution in the relevant discipline. A full-time Diploma in Engineering/Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government/University/Institution in the relevant discipline. Graduates/Technicians who passed their qualifying examination in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible to apply. Age is calculated as on the date of the interview, i.e., 10 August 2026. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules for reserved categories. Ex-servicemen: The upper age limit is relaxed by an additional 10 years, to the extent of service rendered in the Defence Forces.

Stipend ranges from Rs. 6,800 to Rs. 12,300 per month depending on the trade, discipline, and category, as detailed in the vacancy tables above. All positions carry a training period of 1 year.

Guidelines under the Apprentices Act on reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS will be followed. Candidates claiming reservation under SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS must provide a certificate as per the Government of India format; failing this, their claim will be considered under the General category only.

Selection is through a walk-in interview at CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi. If the number of candidates is higher than the available vacancies, the Selection Committee will adopt its own criteria to shortlist candidates for the walk-in interview, in proportion to the available vacancies. The applicant's candidature is provisional and subject to subsequent verification of certificates and testimonials.
