CSIR-IMMT Bhubaneswar plans to engage 41 apprentice trainees across Engineering Graduate, Non-Engineering Graduate, Diploma Engineering and ITI categories. The institute has clarified that these numbers are tentative and may change. As per the notification, 50% of the stipend is paid by CSIR-IMMT on a monthly basis, and the remaining 50% government share (Rs. 4,500/- for Graduate-level trainees and Rs. 4,000/- for Diploma-level trainees) is paid at the old rate as per BOPT Letter No. BOPT/DT/2025-26 dated 15.09.2025. The notification does not specify a separate government-share breakdown for ITI trainees.

Eligibility depends on the category applied for. All candidates must have completed their qualifying exam within the last five years and must not have prior work experience of one year or more, and must not have previously undergone apprenticeship training elsewhere. Before appearing for the interview, candidates must register on the applicable government apprenticeship portal: Diploma / Engineering Graduate / Non-Engineering Graduate candidates: NATS 2.0 Portal (nats.education.gov.in) ITI candidates: NAPS Portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) Registration must be completed within five years of passing the qualifying examination, and only candidates who have registered and meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for the walk-in interview.

Apprentice trainees will receive a monthly stipend ranging from Rs. 9,600/- to Rs. 12,300/-, depending on the category and trade, as detailed in the vacancy table above. 50% of the amount is paid by CSIR-IMMT and 50% is the government share.

Selection is based entirely on the candidate's performance in the walk-in interview held at CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar. There is no written exam mentioned in the notification. Candidates selected will receive an engagement letter by email and must submit their acceptance within 3 days and join within 7 days of receiving it, failing which the selection is treated as cancelled.

Candidates must have completed their diploma/graduation within the last five years and must not have completed five years since passing the qualifying exam. Candidates should not hold one year or more of prior work experience and must not have undergone apprenticeship training elsewhere previously. Original College Leaving Certificate (CLC) must be submitted at the time of joining and will be retained during the apprenticeship tenure.
