DRDO DRDL Paid Internship Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - 165 Vacancies for Engineering & Science UG/PG Students

DRDL has notified 165 indicative internship positions across four branch codes. The number of vacancies may increase or decrease at the absolute discretion of the establishment.

Candidates must be pursuing their final year of Undergraduate Engineering, OR Candidates must be pursuing their final year of Postgraduate Engineering or Physical Science. The course must be a full-time programme in the respective discipline from a recognised Indian University/Institute, approved by AICTE/UGC. Candidates must have a good academic track record with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA (CGPA to be converted to percentage as an average of completed semesters/years). The candidate must be an Indian citizen. A referral/request letter from the Principal/Director of the candidate's college or institution is mandatory, recommending only highly deserving, meritorious students, and must be submitted on college letterhead.

If a student is unable to complete the internship and leaves midway, no Completion Certificate will be issued, and no payment will be made if the student does not complete a minimum tenure of 3 months. Upon successful completion - including evaluation of project work, submission of the project report, and completion of other formalities - a Completion Certificate will be awarded. This internship does not create any obligation on DRDL/ASL/CAS to offer employment, and interns cannot claim a right to employment on the basis of completing the internship.

The interview date will be intimated to shortlisted candidates via phone and on the DRDO website after shortlisting.

Application Submission: Candidates submit a physical application (in an envelope) at the walk-in registration desk, along with a scanned copy sent by email. Shortlisting: Based on academic percentage/CGPA (converted to percentage) and the mandatory college referral letter. Interaction/Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interaction/interview at DRDL/ASL/CAS, Hyderabad. Final Selection: Made entirely on merit basis. No communication will be sent to rejected candidates. The management reserves the right to change the vacancy positions or selection criteria at any point during the selection process, without assigning any reason.

Selected students must submit the following documents at the time of joining: No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the college, in original, on college letterhead, confirming relief for the internship and a minimum of 15 working days' presence per month. Police verification acknowledgement from the local police station. Undertaking for adherence to the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923. Undertaking to follow IT rules and regulations applicable to the Ministry of Defence. Bank account details for transfer of the internship stipend. Medical fitness certificate from an authorised medical practitioner holding at least an MBBS degree. Original Aadhaar card and college ID card, for verification at the time of joining. 3 passport-size photographs. Candidates should make their own arrangements for stay and transport in Hyderabad, and should be prepared to stay for one or more days depending on the number of candidates attending the walk-in interview. No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible; only subsidised canteen facilities are available at DRDL/ASL/CAS. The referral letter from the Principal/Director of the college/institute is mandatory for the application to be considered. Shortlisted candidates must bring a character certificate from their college and a police verification certificate to the interview.
