Pay is fixed as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), with Basic Pay plus other allowances (DA, NPA, TA, HRA, etc.) as applicable. Retired employees/pensioners engaged on contract may draw total pay without deduction, as this is not treated as re-employment under the Central Civil Services (Fixation of Pay of Re-employed Pensioner) Orders, 1986, and they can continue to draw pension and dearness relief during the contract period.

Selection is based on the candidate's acquired academic credentials and performance in the interview before the Selection Board.
