GSSSB has announced 50 vacancies for Municipal Engineer, Class-3 across Gujarat municipalities. The category-wise breakup is as follows:

The candidate must be a citizen of India or possess nationality as per Rule-7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967. A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Technology from a recognized university/institution, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government. Basic knowledge of Computer Applications as prescribed under the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967. Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both. Candidates holding a degree in any of the following equivalent disciplines are also eligible: Civil Engineering, Construction Technology and Management, Construction Engineering and Management, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, Urban Planning, Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering and Construction Management, Town and Country Plann

Selected candidates will initially be appointed on a fixed monthly pay of ₹49,600 for the first five years. After five years of satisfactory service, candidates will be placed in the regular 7th Pay Commission pay scale of ₹39,900 to ₹1,26,600 (Level-7) , subject to conditions laid down in the relevant government resolutions.

Fees must be paid online only, via debit card, internet banking, UPI, or wallet, by 13 August 2026 (11:59 PM). Fees are refunded only to candidates who actually appear for the examination.

Selection will be based on a single-stage objective MCQ competitive examination (CBRT/OMR), divided into two parts: Total questions: 210 (90 in Part-A, 120 in Part-B) Total duration: 3 hours (180 minutes), combined for both parts Negative marking: 1/4th mark deducted for each wrong answer Minimum qualifying standard: 40% separately in both Part-A and Part-B Candidates who qualify will be called for document verification (roughly twice the number of vacancies per category), after which the final merit-based selection list and waiting list will be published.

Only one application should be submitted; if multiple applications are submitted, the last confirmed application (with fee paid) will be considered valid. Category (caste) details cannot be changed once the application is confirmed. Reserved category candidates applying against unreserved posts will not get age or other relaxation benefits. Widowed women candidates get 5% additional marks added to their merit score, subject to conditions specified in the notification. Candidates with recognized sporting achievements (national/international, inter-university, or All India School Games Federation level) in specified sports are eligible for 5% additional marks, subject to producing valid certificates.
