The candidate must be a citizen of India, or possess nationality as provided under Rule-7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967. Important: Candidates lacking a valid computer-knowledge certificate may still apply, but must submit proof of passing a basic computer knowledge test before appointment; failure to do so will lead to cancellation of selection.

Age Relaxation

Regularization after 5 years remains subject to the outcome of SLP No. 14124/2012 and SLP No. 14125/2012 pending before the Supreme Court, as stated in the official notification.

Selection is through a single-stage competitive written examination (CBRT/OMR based), conducted in two parts: Total 210 questions (multiple-choice), 210 marks, combined duration of 3 hours (180 minutes) for Part A and Part B. Negative marking: ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer. Qualifying standard: Minimum 40% separately in both Part A and Part B, for all categories. Document verification is called for candidates up to approximately twice the number of vacancies per category, based on provisional merit. Final selection list and waiting list are prepared based on marks obtained, category-wise vacancies, and document verification outcome.

Reserved-category candidates applying against unreserved posts will not get reserved-category relaxations. Category details cannot be changed after confirmation. Eligible widow women candidates may receive additional merit marks subject to conditions. Eligible sports candidates may receive additional merit marks. Scribe/compensatory time facility is available to eligible candidates as per rules. Applicable Gujarat recruitment and examination rules govern the recruitment. Malpractice may result in disqualification and legal action. Passing the written examination does not itself confer a right to appointment. The Board reserves the right to modify or cancel the recruitment process.
