GSSSB has announced 11 Staff Nurse, Class 3 vacancies under the Special Recruitment Drive for eligible Persons with Disabilities. The vacancies are distributed among the notified disability groups as follows. The notification specifies the following disability categories for the available vacancies. Group A: Low Vision (LV), with disability percentage of 40–70%. Group C: One Leg (OL), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Leprosy Cured (LC), Dwarfism (Dw), Acid Attack Victim (AAV), Both Arms (BA), Both Legs (BL), Spinal Deformity (SD) and Spinal Injury (SI), subject to the specified functional conditions. Group D & E: Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Mental Illness (MI) and Multiple Disabilities (MD) as specified in the notification. Candidates must possess either of the following qualifications: B.Sc. Nursing: A degree in B.Sc. Nursing from an eligible university or recognized institution, with recognition by the Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council. GNM Diploma: A Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from an institution recognized by the Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council. In addition, candidates must possess basic computer application knowledge as prescribed under the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both. Candidates who are not already registered with the Gujarat Nursing Council at the time of application must obtain the required registration before appointment, in accordance with the recruitment rules. The age limit is calculated as of 29 October 2026 . The notification provides eligible age relaxations of 10 years for general-category male PwD candidates, 15 years for general-category female PwD candidates, 15 years for reserved-category male PwD candidates and 20 years for reserved-category female PwD candidates, subject to the overall upper-age cap of 45 years. Age relaxation and reserved-category benefits are subject to the applicable government rules and valid supporting certificates.

Selected candidates will initially receive fixed monthly remuneration of Rs. 40,800 for five years. Following satisfactory service and subject to the relevant government resolutions and conditions, they may become eligible for regular appointment in Pay Level 5.

Important: The examination fee of Rs. 400 is non-refundable. According to the notification, even candidates who appear in the examination are not eligible for a fee refund. The examination fee is also not refundable if the application is rejected. Payment can be made through debit card, internet banking, UPI or supported wallets. Applicable transaction charges may be collected separately. Candidates must retain the electronic payment receipt. An application without successful fee payment will not be treated as valid.

The selection process consists of a competitive multiple-choice examination, preparation of a merit list and verification of original documents. The competitive examination consists of two papers carrying a total of 200 marks . Examination Instructions: All questions are multiple-choice questions. Each question carries one mark before any applicable pro-rata adjustment. Negative marking is one-fourth of the marks assigned to an incorrect answer. Candidates must secure at least 40% marks separately in Paper I and Paper II. The Nursing paper can be attempted in Gujarati or English. The Gujarati Language paper is conducted only in Gujarati. The notification specifies a duration of 2 hours for the Nursing paper. Merit is prepared using combined marks secured in both papers, subject to the qualifying standards.

The Nursing examination covers the prescribed nursing syllabus, including core subjects and topics relevant to professional nursing practice. Candidates should refer to the detailed syllabus provided in the official notification, including the annexure. Candidates must qualify in both papers independently. Scoring well in only one paper does not satisfy the notified minimum qualifying requirement.

Eligible candidates with benchmark disabilities and limitations in writing may request a scribe and/or compensatory time, subject to the conditions and documentation requirements specified in the notification. The notification provides compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour for eligible candidates.
