The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences is an autonomous super-specialty institute under the GNCT of Delhi and a Deemed-to-be-University recognised by the UGC. It is located at D – 1, Vasant Kunj, Delhi. Its work covers patient care, teaching and research in liver, gall bladder and pancreatobiliary diseases.

The pay figures are pre-revised. The notice says the pay package follows the 7th CPC at the pay level that applies to the Institute. ILBS states that the vacancies may change at any time and that it may choose not to fill a post. A post can be removed from the website once it is filled, and ILBS may add a post if one falls vacant. The upper age limit for all three posts is 50 years. The official notification does not specify the minimum educational qualification. Working knowledge of computers is essential for all the posts. For a post reserved for OBC, ILBS only considers candidates with an OBC certificate issued by the GNCT of Delhi. Candidates with disabilities can apply under the definition in the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995. Only people with at least 40% of the relevant disability get the PWD reservation benefit. The Screening Committee checks all applications against the Recruitment Rules for the post. Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview. ILBS may limit the number of candidates called for interview. It can do this by looking for qualifications and experience above the advertised minimum and for other academic achievements. It may reject any application without giving a reason. It will not answer questions about how interviews are run or why a candidate was not called. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.

Each appointment is on a contract basis for one year. Either side can end the contract with at least three months' notice in writing, or with salary in place of the notice period. The joining date and other conditions follow the Institute's HR policy. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts in Delhi/New Delhi only.
