NRSC has notified 20 distinct post codes across six position categories. Vacancy numbers are described as provisional. A few posts under Research Scientist and Project Associate-II are specifically earmarked for the Regional Remote Sensing Centre (RRSC), North, New Delhi, and a few Junior Research Fellow posts are earmarked for RRSC-South, Bengaluru, as noted below. For JRF post codes (JRF30 to JRF35), candidates must additionally hold a postgraduate degree obtained through a process such as National Eligibility Test (CSIR-UGC NET, including lectureship/Assistant Professorship) and GATE, or through national-level examinations conducted by central government departments/agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, or IISER, with a valid score card in the relevant discipline. All degrees must be recognised by AICTE/UGC or an organisation authorised by the Government of India, and must have been completed within the stipulated duration prescribed by the university. Only candidates who have already passed out are eligible - those awaiting final results should not apply. Candidates who completed a B.Tech/M.Tech through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are not eligible. Rounding of percentage/CGPA is not allowed; marks must be entered to the nearest two decimal points. Age is reckoned as on the last date for receipt of online applications (21.08.2026): Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are eligible for upper age relaxation as per Government of India orders. Candidates claiming relaxation must submit relevant certificates issued by competent authorities.

Each application attracts a non-refundable fee of ₹250, payable online only through the Bharatkosh payment gateway (no cash, cheque, draft, money order, or IPO is accepted). The last date for fee payment is the same as the application closing date - there is no extension. The ₹250 fee is refunded for all Women, SC/ST/PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria and participating in the selection process (i.e., appearing for the interview). Refunds are made only to the bank account details submitted in the application; NRSC is not responsible for failed refunds due to incorrect bank details, and no refund is considered if a candidate does not appear for interview. Any service charges levied by the payment platform are borne by the applicant.

*HRA is paid at prescribed rates if accommodation is not provided at the place of posting. Female candidates are eligible for maternity leave as per Government of India rules, and selected candidates are eligible for medical benefits for self as per NRSC/ISRO rules. Selected candidates will not be entitled to other benefits or concessions admissible to regular employees, and these provisions may change as per government policy from time to time.

Meeting the minimum qualification does not automatically qualify a candidate for interview - NRSC reserves the right to screen applications and fix additional shortlisting criteria as necessary. Screened-in/shortlisted candidates are called for an interview before a Selection Committee; only shortlisted candidates are contacted, and call letters are sent by email only. The list of shortlisted candidates is placed on the NRSC website. Documents uploaded during application are verified at the time of interview; mere admission to the interview does not guarantee selection.

All positions are purely temporary, for a period of one year (subject to the project's validity), extendable further based on performance in periodic review or co-terminus with the project - up to a maximum of five years for JRF and Research Scientist posts. Positions approved for a specific project cannot be adjusted against any other project. Selected candidates have no claim or right to regular appointment in NRSC/ISRO/Department of Space, and NRSC reserves the right to terminate services at any time without notice or reason.

Candidates intending to apply for more than one post must submit a separate online application for each post. Incomplete applications (without photograph, signature, mark-sheets, caste/category certificate, or date-of-birth proof) will be rejected outright. In case of multiple applications for the same post, only the latest application submitted before the closing date will be considered. Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid sleeper-class railway fare or non-AC bus fare (whichever is less) by the shortest route, on production of tickets - only candidates permitted to interview after document verification are eligible for this travel allowance.
