JKSSB has advertised a total of 2863 posts under this notification, comprising Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts distributed across UT Cadre, Divisional Cadre, and District Cadre. The official notification also lists the vacancies notified may increase or decrease before the selection process concludes. Candidates applying for JKSSB Class-IV (MTS) & Sanitation Worker Recruitment 2026 must satisfy the domicile, qualification, and age conditions below, all assessed as on the cut-off date of 03.11.2026 (or 01.01.2026 for age). Candidates must be Domicile holders of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir with a valid Domicile Certificate issued on or before the cut-off date. Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification for the post/cadre applied for, verified at the Document Verification stage. Candidates possessing qualification other than what is prescribed will not be eligible, and their candidature is liable to be summarily rejected at any stage of the selection process.

The age of candidates is reckoned as on 01.01.2026. Ex-Servicemen may deduct their period of Armed Forces service from actual age; if the resultant age doesn't exceed the post's maximum limit by more than 3 years, they are deemed to satisfy the age condition. An additional 5-year relaxation in upper age limit is available to candidates claiming the casual-worker additional weightage benefit under the J&K Appointment to Class IV (Special Recruitment) Rules, 2020. Fee is payable only through online mode (Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card). Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected, and the fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other examination.

Selected candidates for both Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts will be placed in Pay Level SL1, carrying a pay scale of ₹14,800 – ₹47,100, as per Annexure-D of the notification.

Selection for JKSSB Class-IV (MTS) & Sanitation Worker Recruitment 2026 will be based on an Objective Type Written Test followed by Document Verification, with the overall merit determined using written test marks plus additional weightage points. Written examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions set in English only. Negative marking applies: one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer. Total marks are distributed between the written test and additional weightage points, and the split differs by cadre as shown below. Cadre and Department allocation for successful candidates will be done on a merit-cum-preference basis, and once notified, allocation decisions are final and binding. Only one online application per item number is allowed; a candidate submitting multiple applications for the same item number will have their candidature cancelled. Candidates should submit applications well before the last date to avoid last-minute portal congestion. Name, date of birth, and parents' names must be entered exactly as per the Matriculation Certificate. No request for correction/change in submitted application details will be entertained.
