Candidates must be Indian citizens and satisfy the educational, driving licence, age and other conditions prescribed in the MPESB rulebook. In addition to the educational qualification, candidates must possess a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle Driving Licence . A separate practical trade test will also be conducted and qualifying it is mandatory. Candidates who are not permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh can apply only against Unreserved Open vacancies. Such candidates are not eligible for reservation or age-relaxation benefits available to Madhya Pradesh domiciles.

According to the rulebook, during the initial period, stipend is payable at 70% of the minimum pay scale in the first year, 80% in the second year and 90% in the third year, in accordance with the applicable Madhya Pradesh Government provisions. Other allowances and benefits sanctioned by the State Government from time to time will also apply.

Applicants submitting the form through an MP Online kiosk have to pay an additional portal charge of Rs.60. Candidates applying through a registered citizen user login have to pay a portal charge of Rs.20.

The minimum age is 18 years. Age will be calculated with reference to 29 October 2026. Age relaxation benefits apply only as prescribed in the rulebook. Candidates from outside Madhya Pradesh do not receive State reservation or age-relaxation benefits.

The selection process has two major stages. First Stage - Online Written Examination Second Stage - Physical Efficiency Test, Document Verification and Trade Test Each correct answer carries 1 mark. No mark will be deducted for a wrong or unanswered question. Based on the written examination cut-off percentile, candidates up to seven times the advertised vacancies under vertical reservation will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test. Candidates obtaining the same cut-off percentile will also be called even if the total exceeds seven times the vacancy count. The Physical Efficiency Test carries a maximum of 40 marks and consists of an 800-metre run. Candidates get one opportunity for the run. The recruitment is only for male candidates. Aadhaar registration is mandatory. Candidates must bring an original photo identity proof to the examination centre. Accepted ID proof includes Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence or Passport. Verified e-Aadhaar will be accepted. Multi-level biometric verification will be conducted during the examination process. Aadhaar should remain unlocked during biometric verification. Candidates must reach the examination centre within the specified reporting time. Mobile phones, calculators, digital watches, log tables and other prohibited electronic devices are not allowed.
