There are a total of 13 vacancies distributed across Tehsildar Andheri, Tehsildar Borivali, and Tehsildar Kurla. The notification warns that the total number of vacancies may increase or decrease. The District Collector may also cancel the recruitment fully or partly, and no dispute can be raised on this.

The applicant must be a local resident of the respective taluka for whose Kotwal post they are applying. The candidate must be capable of discharging Kotwal duties and must possess good moral character and physical fitness.

Candidates must be between 18 years and 40 years of age as of the last date of application submission (24 October 2026).

The examination fee must be paid via Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of "तहसिलदार अंधेरी तथा सदस्य सचिव, कोतवाल निवड समिती" payable at Mumbai. Cash and cheques are not accepted. The application fee is non-refundable.

The selection process consists of a written examination carrying 100 marks, followed by document verification and medical/character verification. The written test contains objective-type multiple-choice questions in Marathi medium. There is no mention of negative marking in the official notification.

True copy of educational qualification mark sheets/certificates (minimum 4th pass mark sheet/certificate). Proof of age (School Leaving Certificate or Birth Certificate). Proof of local residency of the concerned taluka issued by the Tehsildar. Attested copy of caste certificate (if claiming reserved category) and validity certificate where applicable. Marriage registration certificate or name change affidavit (for married women). Valid Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate for reserved categories. EWS eligibility certificate issued as per Government Resolutions. Two recent passport-size color photographs.

The appointment is purely on an honorarium and temporary/unclassified basis, and candidates will not receive retirement benefits. Selected candidates must submit a Rs. 100/- bond stating they agree to relocation within the taluka if required. Applications sent to any authority other than the designated Tehsildar offices will be rejected. Candidates must bring original photo identity cards (Aadhaar Card, Election Card, PAN Card, Smart Card Driving License, etc.) to the examination center. Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, calculators, and electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination center. Incomplete applications, forms without fee payment, or applications received after the deadline will be rejected summarily.
