The maximum age limit for NESAC Recruitment 2026 is calculated as on the date of interview and varies by post category, since Research Scientist, JRF, and Project Associate-I posts have separate age ceilings. Age relaxation of 5 years is available for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. Research Scientist: Initially engaged for one year, extendable up to a maximum of three years in total (or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier), based on performance in periodic reviews. Junior Research Fellow: Initially engaged for one year or the project period, whichever is earlier, extendable up to a maximum of five years or the project duration, whichever is earlier.
