A total of 56 vacancies - 21 posts in Level-3/2 and 35 posts in Level-1 of the Pay Matrix (7th CPC).

The candidate must be a citizen of India. The candidate must be an eligible sportsperson meeting the sports norms prescribed for the applied level (see below).

For Level-3/2 posts (21 vacancies), a candidate must satisfy at least one of the following: Represented the country in any Category-B championship/event, or Secured at least 3rd position in any Category-C championship/event, or Secured at least 3rd position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships, or Secured at least 3rd position in National Games organized under the aegis of the Indian Olympic Association, or Secured at least 3rd position in All India Inter-University Championships organized under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities, or Secured 1st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category). Note: In Boxing, achievements of players in the "Youth" category on or after 25.09.2016 in International Championships will be considered in place of the "Junior" category.

Selected candidates will be placed in Level-3/2 or Level-1 of the Pay Matrix under the 7th Central Pay Commission, depending on the post.
