The High Court of Punjab and Haryana sits at Chandigarh, and these posts are on its own establishment. Terms not covered in the notice are regulated by the High Court Establishment (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1973, as amended from time to time.

The number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on the vacancies on the date the merit list is prepared. The High Court will decide how many candidates are recommended. Applicants of all categories should be not less than 18 years and not more than 35 years as on 21 November 2026. For Ex-Servicemen, the upper age limit is relaxed by the number of years of their defence service plus 03 years. Only two documents are accepted as proof of date of birth: the Matriculation Certificate from a recognized Education Board, for candidates who are matriculate or above, or the Birth Certificate from the Registrar of Births and Deaths, for those qualified below Matric. Minimum Middle Standard and maximum 10+2 from a recognized School Education Board or recognized School. All eligibility conditions must be met on the last date of online submission. Candidates are selected on their performance in the interview. Depending on the number of applications, any suitable shortlisting criterion can be followed, and candidates will be told about it at the appropriate time.
