Age is reckoned as on 01.01.2027. The lower and upper age limits vary by post, as shown in the Vacancy table above (ranging from 18–33 years to 20–40 years). Date of birth must match the Matriculation/SSLC certificate; no subsequent change will be considered. RRB CEN 05/2026 Selection Process

Selection consists of a Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by Document Verification (DV) and a Medical Examination. The CBT is of 90 minutes' duration for 100 questions (120 minutes for PwBD/PWD candidates eligible for the Scribe facility), with objective multiple-choice questions (4 options, 1 correct answer). There is negative marking of 1/3 mark for every wrong answer. The subject/section-wise distribution is indicative and may vary. CBT questions are available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional Indian languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu). These percentages also apply to Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates as per their community, and may be relaxed by 2 marks for PwBD candidates in case of a shortage against reserved vacancies.
