Candidates should ensure they meet all eligibility criteria before applying - eligibility is verified against original documents only after qualifying the online exam, and admission to further stages is purely provisional until then.

Fee and intimation charges are inclusive of GST and must be paid online only, via Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, or UPI. Any bank transaction charge is borne by the applicant. Fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other application, including in case of multiple applications by the same candidate.

Selection comprises an Online Test (75% weightage) and an Interview (25% weightage). The test is bilingual (Hindi & English), except the English Language section, with a composite duration of 120 minutes. For the post of Assistant Manager (OL), the Professional Knowledge section will be in Hindi and/or English, as applicable to each question. There is a penalty of 1/4th of the marks assigned to a question for every wrong answer. The online examination may be conducted at centres in Delhi & NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, or Bhopal. No request for change of centre, venue, date, or session will be entertained. Admit cards will be available for download only from www.spmcil.com using the Application Number and Password - no admit card will be sent by post. Candidates must appear at the exam centre with the original Admit Card, an original valid photo ID (PAN Card, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter's Card, Aadhaar/e-Aadhaar with photo, or similar - a Ration Card or Learner's Driving Licence is not accepted), and a photocopy of that ID. The name on the Admit Card must exactly match the name on the photo ID; candidates who have changed their name must carry the original Gazette notification, marriage certificate, or affidavit.

New recruits at the E-1 and E-2 levels are required to execute a bond of Rs. 3,00,000 (Rupees Three Lakhs) to serve the Company for a minimum period of three years.

As per Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment Notification No. 38-16/2020-DD-III dated 4 January 2021, specific benchmark-disability sub-categories are identified as suitable for each post (except Assistant Manager - Safety, which is not identified for PwBD). Visually impaired candidates, or candidates whose writing speed is permanently affected, may use a scribe arranged at their own cost, subject to eligibility conditions, and are entitled to 20 minutes of compensatory time per hour of examination.
