Candidates are advised to submit online applications well before the closing date, since the Commission does not entertain requests to accept applications or extend the deadline after the closing date and time. The exact examination schedule will be notified separately on the Commission's website.

A total of 10 vacancies are notified for Assistant Director of Town Planning, distributed across Multi-Zone-I and Multi-Zone-II under Unreserved (UR) and Local (L) sub-categories. Grand Total: 10 posts. Candidates should note that the number of vacancies is provisional and subject to variation on intimation from the concerned department; unfilled or non-joining vacancies will be carried forward to the next recruitment, and there shall be no waiting list.

Age is reckoned as on 1 July 2026 . The prescribed age limit is 18 to 44 years (the upper age limit having been raised from 34 to 44 years vide G.O.Ms.No.86, G.A.(Ser.A) Department, dated 18/05/2026). Candidates for the minimum age should not be born after 01/07/2008, and for the maximum age should not be born before 02/07/1982. No person is eligible if he/she is less than 18 years of age or has crossed 61 years (superannuation age), even after availing eligible age relaxations.

Candidates must possess the prescribed academic qualification as on the date of notification, i.e. 06 July 2026. Minimum qualification of B.Arch., or B.E./B.Tech. (Civil), or B.Planning/B.Tech. (Planning), or M.A. (Geography), or M.Sc. (Geography), or M.Sc. (Geoinformatics); AND A Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Town and Country Planning from a University in India established or incorporated by or under a Central Act, State Act, or Provincial Act, or Fellowship/Associateship of the Institute of Town Planners of India, or equivalent membership of a professional Institute of Planners recognised by the University Grants Commission. Selection is based on a Written Examination (Objective Type), conducted in OMR-based offline mode or Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) mode, as decided by the Commission. Fee is payable online only, through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI. The fee once remitted shall not be refunded or adjusted under any circumstances, and candidature will not be considered unless both the application processing fee and examination fee (wherever applicable) are paid in full.

The Written Examination (Objective Type) will be held at Hyderabad (including HMDA Jurisdiction), Karimnagar, Khammam, Warangal, and Nizamabad, or such other centres as may be decided by the Commission. Requests for change of examination centre will not be entertained.

Reservation is applicable for Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and Economically Weaker Sections, along with Horizontal Reservation for Persons with Disabilities, Women, and Meritorious Sportspersons, as per Rule 22 and 22(A) of the Telangana State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996. Applicants belonging to SC, ST, BC, EWS, or differently-abled categories who avail upper age relaxation will also be considered for Open Category (OC) vacancies. No reservation benefit is given on the basis of a temporary Disability certificate. Local Status Tie-Breaker: If two or more candidates secure equal total marks, preference in ranking goes first to local candidates, then to date of birth (elder candidate ranked higher), followed by marks in the subject paper and other specified criteria.
