Who Can Apply for the Special Round

• Candidates who were not allotted any seat during the regular counselling rounds.
• Candidates who did not participate in the regular rounds but hold a valid GATE score.
• Candidates whose earlier allotment was cancelled due to non-fulfilment of eligibility conditions.

All eligible candidates are required to register afresh for the special round and complete choice filling again, even if they had registered in the regular rounds.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must hold a valid GATE score from 2024, 2025, or 2026.
• Candidates must have passed their qualifying degree with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (for General/General-EWS/OBC categories) and 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA (for SC/ST/PwD categories), from a recognized university/institute.
• Final-year students awaiting results may participate provisionally, subject to submitting proof of passing within the specified deadline.
• NRI candidates with a degree from another country and a valid GATE/JAM score are eligible, provided the qualifying degree is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• Some participating institutes may apply additional, institute-specific eligibility conditions. Candidates should verify this on the respective institute's website.

Application/Registration Fee

For CCMT counselling registration, the following non-refundable fee structure has been specified officially. Candidates participating in the special round are required to re-register and pay the applicable registration fee again.

In addition, candidates who are allotted a seat and wish to confirm it must pay a seat acceptance fee of ₹30,000, as per the standard CCMT process.

Selection Process

• Registration: Log in using GATE credentials and complete the special round registration, paying the applicable fee.
• Choice Filling and Locking: Select and lock preferred institutes and programs based on the vacant seat matrix.
• Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted based on GATE merit, choices filled, and seat availability.
