CSIR CMERI Recruitment 2026: Walk-in for 34 Project Assistant, Project Associate and Other Posts

Important: Candidates must attend on the date assigned to their post code. Reporting on a different date may make them ineligible to participate.

Eligibility is post-code-specific. Candidates must match the exact discipline, qualification and experience prescribed for the selected post code. Candidate caution: The general patterns above do not replace the post-code-wise qualification table in the official notification. Applicants should verify their exact branch and experience before attending.

The upper age limit varies from 28 to 50 years , depending on the post code. The relevant interview date will be used to determine age, qualification and experience. SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates receive up to five years of age relaxation. OBC candidates receive up to three years of age relaxation, subject to applicable Government of India and CSIR rules.

The notified consolidated remuneration ranges from ₹20,000 to ₹56,000 per month . HRA is payable only where specifically mentioned. For certain Project Associate posts, the higher remuneration applies to candidates who have qualified NET, GATE or another prescribed national-level examination. Project Assistant-II: ₹20,000 per month, with HRA for specified post codes. Project Associate-I: generally ₹25,000 or ₹31,000, depending on eligibility conditions. Project Associate-II: generally ₹28,000 or ₹35,000. Project JRF: ₹37,000. Senior Project Associate: ₹42,000. Principal Project Associate: ₹49,000. Project Scientist-I: ₹56,000, with the notified experience-based increment condition.

Selection will be based on the candidate’s performance and overall assessment by the selection committee during the walk-in process. The institute may publish results on its website or communicate them by email. No TA/DA: Candidates will not receive travel or daily allowance for attending the interview.

The actual number of positions may vary on the interview date. Project tenure is tentative and may be reduced or extended. Engagement is co-terminus with the project or requirement, whichever ends earlier. Candidates who have already completed six years of project engagement in CSIR laboratories are not eligible. The English version of the notification will prevail in case of a discrepancy. Offer letters are subject to fund availability and approval of the competent authority.
