All 34 posts carry a maximum age limit of 35 years, reckoned as on 19 July 2026 (the last date of receipt of application). Job requirement/desirable qualification varies by post - covering areas such as chemical synthesis, material characterization, coatings, hydrometallurgy, plasma physics, biosurfactants, CAD/3D printing, and battery management systems. The maximum age limit for all 34 posts is 35 years, as on the last date of receipt of application (19 July 2026). Relaxation is as per Government of India instructions issued from time to time. Date of birth will be accepted as per the High School Certificate or equivalent, and cannot be changed once claimed.

Monthly emoluments vary by post, ranging from Rs. 20,000 + HRA@20% (Project Assistant-II) to Rs. 37,000 + HRA@20% (Junior Research Fellow, post 8425). Several posts (8414 to 8417, 8428, 8429) carry a two-tier emolument structure: a higher rate for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR/NET (including lectureship/assistant professorship), GATE, or an equivalent national-level examination conducted by a Central Government department such as DBT/DST, and a lower rate for candidates who do not meet this qualification. Merely fulfilling the essential qualification does not by itself entitle a candidate to be called for interview. No written examination is mentioned in the notification - shortlisted candidates will be called for a walk-in interview at CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar, based on their subject/branch (see the Interview Schedule table below). No separate interview call letter will be issued, and no TA/DA is admissible for appearing at the interview.
