A total of 21 vacancies are available - 3 for Computer Science and Engineering, 3 for Electronics & Communication Engineering, 3 for Mechatronics & Automation Engineering, 2 for Mathematics & Computing, 2 for Library, 1 for Finance & Accounts, 2 for Computer Centre/Website Management, 3 for Administration and 2 for Store & Purchase. Reservation for these posts will be applicable as per Government of India norms. The notification does not specify a category-wise (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS) breakup for individual posts.

The gap between the last date of application (09.09.2026) and the passing date of the qualifying degree/diploma examination should not be more than two years. Applicants who have already registered for, undergone, or are undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act elsewhere are not eligible to apply. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for this apprenticeship program.

Minimum Age: 18 years Maximum Age: 25 years Age reckoning date: 09.09.2026 Candidates should ensure that they meet the prescribed age limit as on the specified cut-off date. Upper age relaxation will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates as per Government of India guidelines. SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS applicants claiming age relaxation must upload the necessary certificates while filling the online application form and produce the original certificates at the time of document verification. The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate must be issued after 01.04.2026 in the prescribed format.

No other payment shall be made to apprentices apart from the consolidated stipend mentioned above.

The shortlisting and engagement of apprentices will be based solely on merit, i.e., the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying Degree/Diploma examination as claimed by the applicant in the application form, along with mandatory eligibility criteria. In case of a tie in percentage marks between two or more applicants, preference will be given to the applicant senior in age. If the tie persists even after applying the above criterion, the decision will be taken by the competent authority. Provisionally shortlisted applicants will be called for document verification on a specified date, time, and venue. Joining is subject to successful verification of original documents and a medical fitness certificate from a Government Hospital.

Applicants shortlisted for document verification must carry the following documents in original along with one set of self-attested photocopies: Print-out of the online application form submitted on the NATS 2.0 portal Print-out of the page showing Aadhaar-seeded and DBT-enabled bank account status Class X mark sheet or certificate indicating date of birth Qualifying Diploma/Graduation mark sheet and certificate showing date/month/year of passing Caste category certificate, wherever applicable OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate (issued after 01.04.2026), wherever applicable PwBD category certificate, wherever applicable Aadhaar Card Medical fitness certificate from a Government Hospital Percentage conversion certificate from the university (if the qualifying result is in CGPA)

Applicant eligibility will be assessed strictly based on the information provided in the online application form. Furnishing false or wrong information will lead to rejection/cancellation/termination of candidature or apprenticeship. The apprenticeship does not confer any right to claim employment at IIIT Bhagalpur, and the Institute has no liability to provide any job to apprentices after completion of training. No request for change of date/time/venue of document verification will be considered under any circumstances.
