Note: # denotes Backlog Vacancy. Two (02) posts of Junior Assistant (Hospitality) are reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities under categories (a), (b), (c) and (e) as defined in the notification. These posts are also suitable for Divyang candidates with Low Vision, Hard of Hearing, or Locomotor disability (including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy). Note: # denotes Backlog Vacancy. Out of the total 27 vacancies, four (04) are reserved for Divyang (specially abled) candidates under categories (a), (b), (c) and (e). The posts of Junior Technical Superintendent across all streams fall under a common cadre with a single reservation roster.

Junior Assistant (Hospitality), Junior Technician (Civil/Electrical Maintenance): Maximum 30 years Assistant Systems Engineer (both streams): Maximum 40 years Junior Technical Superintendent (all streams): Maximum 35 years Age relaxation for SC/ST candidates (and OBC-NCL for Junior Technical Superintendent posts) against reserved posts is admissible as per Government of India norms. Candidates serving in the Institute or other IITs/NITs/CFTIs for at least three years on a regular post may get a 5-year age relaxation (not applicable to employees of private organizations). Age relaxation as per Government of India norms is also admissible to regular employees of Central/State Governments, Ex-Servicemen, and PwD/Divyang candidates. The closing date of application submission is the cut-off date for age, educational qualification, and experience.

Junior Assistant / Junior Technician / Junior Technical Superintendent: Preliminary shortlisting based on essential qualifications and experience, followed by Written Test and Trade Test/Computer Proficiency Test as per Recruitment Rules of IIT (ISM), Dhanbad. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in recruitment tests. Assistant Systems Engineer: Preliminary shortlisting based on essential qualifications and experience, followed by Presentation and Interview before the Selection Committee. Written Test and Computer/other Test may also be conducted as per Recruitment Rules, if required. To-and-fro rail fare (AC-3 tier, shortest route) is reimbursable only for candidates shortlisted for Presentation and Interview.
