IOCL AOD Digboi Refinery Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 126 Posts

A total of 126 seats have been notified across 11 trade/discipline codes. The seat numbers indicated are tentative and may vary at the discretion of the management. Note: PwBD candidates can apply only against seats identified under Codes 105, 106, 107, 108 and 110.

Candidates must satisfy the nationality/eligibility criteria as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 and applicable Government of India guidelines. The notification does not specify a separate nationality clause beyond statutory eligibility under the Act. Code 101/103: 3-year B.Sc. with Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry. Code 102: Matriculation with ITI in Fitter Trade (minimum 2 years duration) with Pass class. Code 104: 3-year Diploma in Chemical Engg./Petrochemical Engg./Chemical Technology/Refinery and Petrochemical Engg. Code 105: 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engg. Code 106: 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engg. or Electrical and Electronics Engg. Code 107: 3-year Diploma in Instrumentation Engg./Instrumentation & Electronics/Instrumentation & Control Engg./Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engg. Code 108: 3-year B.A./B.Sc/B.Com. Code 109: 3-year B.Com.

The Marksheet/Certificate issued by the Board of Secondary Education for Class X (Matriculation) is the only document accepted as proof of age.

The official notification does not mention any application fee for any category of candidates.

There is no written test for this recruitment. Selection is purely merit-based: A merit list is prepared based on the percentage of marks (aggregate of all subjects across all years/semesters) obtained in the prescribed qualification, in descending order. Preference is given to candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time. In case of a tie in marks, the candidate senior in age (date of birth) is ranked higher; if the date of birth is also the same, higher percentage in Matriculation is considered. PwBD candidates who avail relaxation in qualifying marks are considered against reserved seats based on merit within their category. Shortlisted candidates are called for Document Verification, followed by pre-engagement medical fitness examination.

The rate of stipend payable to apprentices is as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended), and IOCL's guidelines. The specific stipend amount is not mentioned in this notification. Personal Protective Equipment: Apprentices under Codes 101–107 will be provided one pair of safety shoes and a helmet (returnable on completion of training). Accommodation/HRA: No HRA or Company accommodation will be provided. Leave: 32 days General Leave (8 days/quarter) and 12 days Casual Leave per calendar year (pro-rata); unavailed leave lapses at the end of the training period. Insurance: Apprentices are covered under Accident Insurance. Employment obligation: IOCL has no obligation to offer employment after completion of apprenticeship, and apprentices cannot claim employment rights on this basis.

Candidates can apply for only one trade/discipline of their choice. Furnishing false or incorrect information at any stage will lead to cancellation of candidature and possible criminal prosecution. SC/ST/PwBD candidates attending Document Verification will be reimbursed single second-class railway fare (if distance is 30 km or more) from the nearest railway station to the venue and back.
