ISRO Recruitment 2026: 242 Assistant, UDC, JPA and Stenographer Vacancies

ISRO has issued the recruitment notice under for filling 242 administrative and stenography-related vacancies. Candidates should read the detailed notification published on the official ISRO website before submitting the application.

Vacancies are distributed across eight ISRO Centres/Units under six post codes. Post No. 1, 3 and 5 correspond to Assistant/Upper Division Clerk category posts, while Post No. 2, 4 and 6 correspond to Junior Personal Assistant/Stenographer category posts, as per the official notification. Eligibility differs by post category, with a common requirement of computer proficiency and, for JPA/Stenographer posts, an additional stenography speed requirement. Age relaxation, wherever posts are reserved, is also applicable to serving Government employees, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, meritorious Sportspersons, Widows, Divorced women, and women judicially separated from their husbands and not remarried, as per extant Government of India orders.

Selected candidates for Assistant, Junior Personal Assistant, Upper Division Clerk and Stenographer posts will be placed in Level 4 of the Pay Matrix , with a minimum basic pay of Rs. 25,500 per month . In addition to basic pay, the following allowances/benefits are admissible as per extant Central Government rules: Dearness Allowance (DA) House Rent Allowance (HRA) Transport Allowance New Pension Scheme Medical facilities for self and dependents, subsidised canteen, limited quarters facility (in lieu of HRA) Leave Travel Concession (LTC) Group Insurance House Building Advance (HBA)

Candidates must initially pay a processing fee of Rs. 500. The actual application fee is Rs. 100. Refunds will be processed only for candidates who appear in the Written Test, subject to the conditions prescribed by ISRO. The processing fee is refunded only to candidates who appear in the Written Test, as per the terms above.

The selection process includes a Written Test. ISRO may conduct a skill test or other post-specific stages for shortlisted candidates as prescribed in the detailed notification. Candidates should check the official notification for the complete examination scheme, qualifying standards and document-verification requirements.

Candidates should visit www.isro.gov.in for full details on posts, eligibility, and reservation points. CGPA-to-percentage conversion is not permitted for determining eligibility, even if a University prescribes a conversion formula. Diploma in Commercial Practice/Diploma in Commercial and Computer Practice candidates with a NATS/BOAT Apprenticeship Training Certificate may count it as equivalent to one year of Steno-Typist/Stenographer experience. The last date for online registration is 16 August 2026; the Government encourages candidates to apply well in advance to avoid last-minute technical issues.
