The 357 vacancies are distributed across four items covering two posts in the Jammu and Kashmir Divisions, under the Public Works (R&B) Department. OM refers to Open Merit, SC to Scheduled Castes, ST-1/ST-2 to Scheduled Tribes, RBA to Residents of Backward Areas, EWS to Economically Weaker Sections, OBC to Other Backward Classes, and ALC/IB to Residents of areas adjoining the Line of Actual Control/International Border. Category-wise Vacancy Breakup

Candidates must be Domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format, valid on or before the cut-off date of 30.08.2026. Candidates shortlisted for Document Verification must produce original certificates proving their qualification was obtained strictly on or before the cut-off date.

Age is reckoned as on 01.01.2026 for all categories. Every Ex-Servicemen who has served in the Armed Forces is allowed to deduct the period of such service from their actual age. If the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the post by more than 3 years, the candidate is deemed to satisfy the age condition. No candidate under any category should be born after 01.01.2008.

Appointment and other service conditions of selected candidates will be governed as per the extant rules and regulations of the Government of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

Fee can be paid only through online mode, that is, Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances, nor adjusted against any other examination or selection.

Selection for both Draftsman (Civil) and Works Supervisor posts will be made purely on the basis of merit obtained in a written/OMR examination. The examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions set in English language only. There will be negative marking of one-fourth of the marks assigned to each wrong answer. Candidature at the examination stage is provisional; ineligible candidates identified later will not proceed to subsequent stages.
