KRCL Recruitment 2026 is open to the following categories of candidates: Land Loser Candidates: Candidates whose land was acquired for construction of the Konkan Railway Line between Roha (Maharashtra) and Thokur (Karnataka), irrespective of the percentage of land lost. The land loser and/or their spouse, son, daughter, grandson, or granddaughter are eligible under the landloser quota. Employment Exchange Registered Candidates: Domiciles of Maharashtra, Goa, or Karnataka with valid employment exchange cards registered along the Konkan Railway route (Raigad, Sindhudurg, and Ratnagiri districts of Maharashtra; Goa State; Uttara Kannada, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada/South Kannada districts of Karnataka). Other Domicile Candidates: Candidates domiciled in the States of Maharashtra, Goa, or Karnataka (not covered above). KRCL Employees: Serving KRCL employees who have completed at least 3 year

KRCL has announced 201 vacancies across 12 posts. Category-wise reservation (UR/EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST) is shown in parentheses against each post; the notification also provides horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen (Ex.SM) and PwBD within these totals. The number of posts indicated is provisional and subject to change; KRCL may publish updated vacancy positions on its website. Any unfilled Ex-Servicemen and EWS vacancies shall not be carried forward.

Educational qualification requirements vary by post, as summarised below (candidates should refer to Annexure-A of the notification for full details, including acceptable qualification combinations): Candidates appearing in or awaiting the final result of the prescribed qualification may also apply, but must produce the qualifying certificate at the time of Document Verification (DV), failing which their candidature will be rejected.

The age of candidates shall be reckoned as on 01/08/2026. *Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen is calculated after deducting the length of military service from the actual age. SC, ST & OBC (NCL) candidates applying against UR vacancies will not get any age relaxation. PwBD candidates applying against UR vacancies get age relaxation applicable only for PwBD (UR), subject to suitability conditions. Candidates eligible for relaxation on more than one ground get the benefit of the category with maximum relaxation only - not cumulative.

This notification provides Vertical Reservation for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and EWS, and Horizontal Reservation for Ex-Servicemen (Ex.SM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). EWS Reservation: Candidates not covered under SC/ST/OBC-NCL reservation, whose family gross annual income is below Rs. 8 lakh and who do not own specified categories of land/property, can claim EWS reservation with a valid Income & Asset Certificate. The recruitment process varies by post group: Section Controller, Station Master, Assistant Loco Pilot: CBT → Computer-Based/OMR-based Aptitude Test → Document Verification (DV) → Medical Examination. Merit is prepared with 70% weightage to CBT marks and 30% to Aptitude Test marks. Senior Section Engineer (Mechanical/S&T), Junior Engineer (Civil/Mechanical), Goods Train Manager, Commercial Supervisor, Technician-III (Mechanical), ESTM-III: CBT → Document Verification → Medical Examination. Track Maintainer: CBT → Document Verification → Physical Efficiency Test (PET) → Medical Examination. CBT Qualifying Marks

PET is mandatory and qualifying in nature, conducted in two stages - Weight Carrying first, followed by a Running Test. Failing the Weight Carrying stage results in elimination at that stage itself.

Fee is payable online only, through Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Cards, or UPI. Minorities include Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians (Parsis). Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates - annual family income below Rs. 50,000 - get fee concession only, not job reservation. There is no refund for erroneous, incomplete, or rejected applications.

Candidates can apply for one or more posts in a single application, in order of preference; once exercised, post preference is final and cannot be changed. KRCL will allot only one post to a selected candidate, based on preference, merit, vacancy position, and qualifying the selection stages - no request for a lower-preference post will be entertained after allotment. Serving Government/PSU employees may apply directly but must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of DV, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
