The exam will be conducted in two shifts per day: the first shift reporting time is 07:00 AM to 08:00 AM (exam 09:00 AM–12:00 PM), and the second shift reporting time is 12:30 PM to 01:30 PM (exam 02:30 PM–05:30 PM), with important-instructions reading time of 10 minutes before each shift.

Candidates must hold the educational/technical/professional qualification prescribed by the concerned demanding department's own departmental recruitment rules, as on the date of submitting the application. This qualification is specified by each department in its demand letter sent to the Board and varies by post code and technical stream (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Telecommunication, Fashion Technology, Architecture & Interior Designing, Modern Office Management, Hotel Management, Agriculture Engineering, Textile Design, Automobile Engineering, or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineering). Candidates must indicate their post preference (priority) while applying. Age is calculated as on 1st January 2026 for all posts under this combined Junior Service (Combined Eligibility) exam. No age relaxation is admissible for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates as per the applicable General Administration Department circular. Age relaxation for physically disabled/ex-servicemen candidates is as per Government of Madhya Pradesh orders issued from time to time. In no case will the maximum age limit, after including all applicable relaxations, exceed 45 years (except contract employees and categories specified under Rule 14). Additional incentive-based age relaxation of 5 years is available for candidates rewarded under the Inter-Caste Marriage Incentive Scheme, and for sportspersons honoured with the Vikram Award, as per applicable General Administration Department memoranda. The examination fee structure is as follows: In addition to the exam fee, candidates applying online through a kiosk must pay an MP Online portal fee of ₹60/-, while candidates applying through a registered citizen login pay a reduced portal fee of ₹20/-.

The recruitment exam consists of a single online (computer-based) objective-type question paper of 200 marks, divided into two sections. The Part B technical paper is assigned by stream, with each stream identified by a paper code and mapped to specific post codes as per the rule book: Note: Candidates applying against Post Code 88 may appear for the paper of either Civil (Paper C) or Architecture (Paper G), as per their subject. The result for Post Code 88 is prepared by combining the percentile scores of candidates in Paper C and Paper G; if a candidate has appeared in both papers, their result is prepared using the higher percentile score obtained across the two.

Selection is based on performance in the single computer-based online exam described above. Only candidates securing the minimum qualifying marks are included in the merit list of successful candidates - 50% for unreserved category candidates, and 40% for SC/ST/OBC and Divyangjan candidates (with up to a 10% relaxation from the unreserved cut-off). EWS candidates are also given a 10% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks, though final selection from the EWS category list is made strictly on merit. Being included in the merit list does not by itself confer a right to appointment. Aadhaar registration is mandatory for all candidates; multi-level biometric verification is mandatory at the time of exam entry and during the exam, and Aadhaar must be unlocked at the time of biometric verification. Candidates must carry an original photo identity proof (Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, or Passport) to the exam centre; e-Aadhaar is valid only if verified through UIDAI. Candidates without a valid original photo ID will not be allowed to sit for the exam. Candidates will be allowed entry into the exam room only until the specified reporting time; late candidates will not be granted entry.
