OPSC APP Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 172 Assistant Public Prosecutor Posts

Candidates should note the following OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Apply Online Date and exam schedule. Candidates are advised to submit the online application well in advance of the OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Last Date to avoid last-hour rush, as stated in the notification.

A total of 172 vacancies (58 reserved for women) have been notified for the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor, as furnished by the Home Department, Government of Odisha. Out of the total 172 vacancies, horizontal reservation is also provided for Ex-Servicemen, Sports Persons and Persons with Disabilities (PwD), who will be adjusted against the categories to which they belong. The PwD reservation of 8 posts is further broken down by disability category as follows: Cat-I (Blind/Low Vision) – 1 post; Cat-II (Hard of Hearing) – 2 posts; Cat-III (Locomotor disabilities including One Leg, One Arm, Both Arms, Both Legs, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims, etc.) – 2 posts; Cat-IV (Specific Learning Disability/Multiple Disability) – 3 posts. Selected candidates for the OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor post will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 44,900/- in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017, along with usual Dearness Allowance and other Allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time. As per the Odisha Payment of Recruitment Examination Fees and Refund Rules, 2025, the OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Application Fee structure is as follows: The examination fee paid will be refunded only to candidates who actually appear in the Preliminary Examination; refunds will be processed after completion of the Preliminary Examination to the original mode of payment (Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, Wallet, etc.). Candidates must also furnish bank account details (Account Number, IFSC Code, Account Holder Name, Bank Branch Name) in the online form, to be used only if the original-mode refund fails due to technical issues. Applications without payment of the examination fee (except SC/ST/PwD candidates) will be treated as incomplete and outrightly rejected.

Selection to the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor is made through a competitive examination conducted in three stages: The Preliminary Examination is only a screening test to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination and its marks are not counted in the final merit list. It comprises one paper of 100 Objective Type (MCQ) questions carrying 100 marks, with a duration of 2 hours. Each correct answer carries 1 mark, and 25% of the marks secured for a correct answer is deducted for each wrong response (negative marking); unattempted questions carry zero marks. Candidates securing the Commission-decided qualifying marks will be admitted to the Main Examination, in a ratio of up to 10 times the number of vacancies per category. SEBC certificates must be issued on or after 29.08.2023 to be considered valid; those issued earlier will not be accepted.
