Which Portal Should You Use?

Gauhati University has changed its online examination system more than once in recent years, so the correct result portal depends on your year of admission:

How to Check Gauhati University 6th Sem Result

• Go to the official SAMARTH login page: gauhati.samarth.edu.in/index.php/site/login.
• Log in using your student credentials (registration/enrollment number and password) that were used during course registration and exam form fill-up.
• Navigate to the examination or result section of your student dashboard.
• Select the 6th Semester result option once it is enabled by the university.
• View and download your result/marksheet for your records.

Details Usually Shown on the Result

• Student name and roll/registration number
• College name
• Subject-wise and semester-wise marks or grades
• SGPA/CGPA (under the CBCS/FYUGP grading pattern)
• Overall result status (Pass/Fail/Compartment, as applicable)

Exact formatting and fields can vary by programme and are set by the university; treat the above as a general guide, not a confirmed specification for the 2026 result.

What to Do If Your Result Is Not Available

• Confirm you are using the correct portal for your admission year (see table above).
• Check whether the university has officially declared the result yet - an undeclared result will not show on any portal.
• Contact your college's examination cell or the Gauhati University Controller of Examinations office for roll number or login-related issues.
• Avoid third-party or unofficial websites claiming to show GU results before an official notification is published.

Revaluation and Re-checking

Gauhati University typically allows students to apply for re-evaluation or re-checking of answer scripts after a semester result is declared, through a separate notification and process on the SAMARTH portal or the official website. Specific fees, deadlines, and application steps for the 2026 6th Semester result have not been officially confirmed at the time of writing - students should watch for a dedicated re-evaluation notification once the main result is out.

Important Instructions for Students

• Keep your SAMARTH portal login credentials safe and do not share them.
• Download and save a copy of your result as soon as it becomes available.
• Cross-verify all personal and academic details on the result; report discrepancies to your college immediately.
• Rely only on gauhati.ac.in, the SAMARTH portal, or official college notice boards for authentic updates - avoid unverified WhatsApp or social media forwards.
