A candidate for appointment must be: A citizen of India, or A citizen of Nepal, or A subject of Bhutan, or A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates belonging to the last four categories must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. Such candidates may sit for the exam, but the appointment offer is given only after the certificate is issued. Candidates appointed to the Clerk-cum-Typist category must acquire typing proficiency of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi within two years of appointment; their appointment remains provisional until then. Must hold a President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger award, or a Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) in any section. Must have been an active member of a Scouts organisation for the last 5 years (inclusive of financial year 2021-22 onwards), supported by a Certificate of Activeness as per Annexure A. Must have attended two events at National Level or All India Railways level, AND two events at State level.

RRC Central Railway Recruitment 2026 : Application Fee Details
Fee must be paid online through the payment gateway integrated with the application, using debit card, credit card, or internet banking. No changes are allowed to the application after fee payment. Fee paid by ineligible candidates who still apply will not be refunded. Selection is based on a Written Test (CBT/TAB mode) followed by marks awarded on certificates during document verification. There is no interview.
