Selection for RSP Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is merit-based rather than exam-based, calculated through a weighted formula applied during the walk-in shortlisting process. Selection depends on vacancies available in each category and discipline. Candidates are shortlisted on academic merit through the walk-in process using a weighted formula: 30% weightage to Class X marks and 70% weightage to Degree/Diploma/ITI examination marks , as applicable. Marks must be mentioned in percentage ; candidates with a CGPA must convert it to percentage as per their board/university norms, which will be verified during document verification. Engagement is subject to the candidate being declared medically fit as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, with the certificate issued by a Government doctor bearing a medical registration number.

The RSP Apprentice stipend varies by category and, for engineering Diploma/Degree apprentices, is shared between RSP and the Basic Off-Roll Training Provider (BOPT) under DBT mode. Stipend for Trade Apprentices is as per rates prescribed by MSDE, GoI. For Graduate/Technician (Diploma & Degree) Apprentices, 50% of the stipend is paid by RSP and 50% by BOPT under DBT mode , or as per prescribed MSDE rates. The training duration is one year . RSP will not provide accommodation or travel allowance to apprentices during training.
