The notification (No. ADM.DJS.16342/2026, dated 20 July 2026) has been issued by the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Shivamogga, for filling 56 vacant Peon posts across various courts under the Shivamogga District and Sessions Court unit through direct recruitment. A total of 56 vacant posts of Peon have been notified, category-wise, as follows: Note: One post under "SC Category-C" is reserved for the 59 notified backward castes; if no suitable candidate is available from these castes, the post will be given to other castes within Category-C. Horizontal reservations for women, rural candidates, persons with disabilities, ex-servicemen, Kannada-medium candidates, project-displaced persons, and transgender candidates apply within the above vertical categories as per the notification. If suitable candidates are not available under disability, women, project-displaced, transgender, or ex-servicemen reservation, such vacancies will be carried forward to future recruitment or filled by other eligible candidates in the same category.

Candidates who do not possess the required qualification but participate in the recruitment process will have their applications rejected and will not be considered for recruitment.

Selected candidates will be paid in the pay scale of ₹27,000-650-29,600-725-32,500-800-35,700-900-39,300-1,000-43,300-1,125-46,675, along with other applicable allowances.

Selection will be based on the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977 and the Karnataka Subordinate Courts (Clerical and Other Posts) (Recruitment) Rules, 1982 (as amended in 2007 and 2021). Based on the overall percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination (SSLC), candidates will be shortlisted at a ratio of 1:10 (10 candidates per vacancy) with the highest marks, and called for interview. The interview will assess the candidate's ability to read and write Kannada, and general knowledge, and carries 10 marks. Final selection will be based on marks scored in the interview.
