TNSTC Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 1518 Graduate, Diploma and Non-Engineering Apprentice Posts

Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Metropolitan Transport Corporation Chennai, and State Express Transport Corporation Tamil Nadu have jointly released the official notification for engagement of Apprentices for 2026-27 under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act, 1973. Candidates should complete the online application by 28 August 2026. The shortlisted candidates list is scheduled for the second week of September 2026, while certificate verification at the TNSTC Trichy Region office is tentatively scheduled for the fourth week of September 2026.

A total of 1,518 apprenticeship training slots are available across three categories: Graduate Engineering, Diploma Engineering, and Non-Engineering Graduate. Note: The participating corporations reserve the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies mentioned in this notification. Open to candidates with a First Class Degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech, Regular Full-time). Open to candidates with a Diploma in Engineering/Technology (Regular Full-time). Open to candidates with a Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce/Humanities (BA/BSc/BCom/BBA/BBM/BCA etc., Regular Full-time, UGC approved). Note: TNSTC Salem does not have a listed vacancy under the Graduate (Non-Engineering) category in the notification. The corporations reserve the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies mentioned above.

Category I: Graduate Apprentices (Engineering) - 457 Vacancies

Category II: Technician (Diploma) Apprentices - 438 Vacancies

Category III: Graduate Apprentices (Non-Engineering) - 623 Vacancies

Qualifying degree/diploma must have been passed during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or May 2026, and candidates must hail from Tamil Nadu. Not Eligible: Candidates who have already completed, or are currently undergoing, apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973, or who have one year or more of relevant experience, are not eligible to apply.

The age limit will be followed as per the Apprenticeship Rules. Specific minimum/maximum age figures are not specified in the notification.

Graduate Apprentices (Engineering and Non-Engineering): Rs. 12,300 per month Diploma in Engineering (Technician) Apprentices: Rs. 10,900 per month

Shortlisting will be carried out by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (Southern Region) based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying/basic prescribed qualification relevant to each discipline. Shortlisted candidates will be notified through their registered email ID. Shortlisted candidates must appear for Certificate Verification at the TNSTC Trichy Region office (tentatively scheduled for the fourth week of September 2026). The list of shortlisted candidates will be published on the NATS portal (Home page → Regional Events → BOAT Southern Region → Apprenticeship News).

On completion of the apprenticeship period, the corporations have no obligation to offer employment, nor can an apprentice claim a right to employment on the grounds of completing the apprenticeship. Incomplete or erroneous online applications received after the due date will be rejected; no further communication will be entertained.
